Dr. Zeina Matar was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and is a citizen of Lebanon and Australia. She studied Oriental studies in Beirut and New York, and possesses several years of experience in project management for research and development as well as professional and personal experience in the Middle East and in the European, North American and Australian cultural areas. Since 2001, she has served as a senior intercultural trainer and freelance consultant for companies and organizations in the realm of intercultural communication, especially with regard to business relationships between Germans and Arabs. Her expertise on Arab and Islamic countries is based on her native language of Arabic and her academic education as well as her time spent in most countries in the Near and Middle East and North Africa. Zeina Matar is a lecturer in the International Program of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University.
