Axel is a trained economist. He started his career 1999 to 2001 in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he worked in the Ministry for Planning and Investment on behalf of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), advising the ministry on private sector development topics. Since 2002 Axel is working as consultant in development cooperation, mainly for the German Government and the EU in South-East Asia. In addition, he is supporting European companies in their market access to Vietnam. Axel is a co-founder and Director Europe of a German-Vietnamese river cruise company in the Mekong Delta with around 100 staff. Additionally, he held the position of a lecturer at the Ho-Chi-Minh University of Technology in an international executive MBA until 2021. Through his diverse activities in Vietnam working as entrepreneur, lecturer, consultant and coach he has a deep knowledge and experience in the intercultural cooperation between Vietnam and Europe. Since 2006 he offers practice-oriented trainings and coaching on intercultural cooperation.
